Starlight Farmers’ Co-operative Society is a farmer led and farmer owned primary co-operative registered on 11th June, 2014 under the office of the Commissioner of Co-operatives, located in Nakuru County, Kuresoi North Sub-County in Kenya.
We started as a peace building initiative after 2007/2008 post-election violence focused on anchoring peace on joint economic activities, currently impacting the lives of 2187 small scale farmers organized in 92 groups and 7 regions across the vast Nakuru County.
We co-operative consists of member farmers' that deal with;
We offer our farmers savings & loans to ensure continous sustainability of their farms & their agribusiness.
We offer potato seedlings propagation in order to offer the highest quality potato seedlings for our farmers.
We collect milk from members and offer value addition through milk processing then supply the market.
We do purchase potatoes produced by our farmers and store it in our silo awaiting good prices in the market.
We offer our farmers artificial insemination to ensure high yielding calves are birthed for future dairy production
The high producing dairy cow requires a diet that supplies nutriental needs for high milk production.
Giving farmers knowledge of agronomic techniques and skills to improve their productivity & food security.
We offer continuous trainings & workshops for our farmers in collaboration with local & international partners.
Yes we currently operate in Nakuru County, Kuresoi North Sub-County in Kenya
Yes we do offer support to potato farmers from 1. Provision of certified potato seeds to harvesting and marketing of their products.
Yes we do support dairy farmers upon being our member. We purchase their milk and offer value addition and marketing. We also offer them support services to ensure they produce high quality milk for the market.
